Two Men Convicted of Murder and Robbery
A jury in Los Angeles has found two men guilty of murdering rapper PnB Rock during a robbery in 2022. Freddie Trone was convicted of felony murder, two counts of robbery, and one count of conspiracy. Tremont Jones was found guilty of two counts of robbery and one count of murder.
Details of the Case
On September 12, 2022, PnB Rock was shot and killed while eating at a Roscoes Chicken and Waffles restaurant in South Los Angeles. The two men, along with a 17-year-old who has not been identified, allegedly approached PnB Rock's table and attempted to rob him.
During the robbery, one of the men shot PnB Rock multiple times, killing him. The men then fled the scene.
Investigation and Trial
Police quickly identified and apprehended Trone and Jones, who were both charged with murder and robbery. Trone's son, the 17-year-old who allegedly fired the fatal shot, was also arrested and charged.
The trial began in January 2023 and lasted for several weeks. The prosecution presented evidence, including surveillance video and witness testimony, that established the defendants' guilt.
Sentencing
Trone and Jones face life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder conviction. They will be sentenced at a later date.
